Holiday parties, family dinners and winter photos all put your hands on show. Here are nail ideas for the season, which base suits each look, and when to book so your set looks fresh on the day.
Holiday nail ideas
- Deep red or burgundy. A classic that suits every length. Try a glossy finish, or a soft cat-eye shimmer.
- Forest green and gold. Rich colour with a fine gold line or a few chrome accents.
- Chrome and mirror finishes. Silver, gold or pearl chrome catches the light at evening events.
- Glitter fades. Sparkle that starts at the tips and grows out neatly.
- Snowflakes and tiny details. A few hand-painted accents on one or two nails keep the look wearable.
- Milky nude with a red French tip. Simple, polished and good for a work party.
- Plaid or ribbon accents. A playful, cosy look for family gatherings.

When to book
Holiday dates fill up, so book early. As a rule of thumb, plan to finish your set two to four days before your biggest event. That keeps it looking fresh and leaves time for small tweaks. If you have several parties in a row, plan your infill or fill so it does not fall on a party day.
- BIAB and Gel-X: about 3–4 weeks between visits.
- Acrylic: a fill every 2–3 weeks.
- Lashes: a fill every 2–3 weeks. For a full set before a big event, book 4–5 days ahead so any sensitivity has time to settle.
Keeping nails strong through winter
Cold air and dry indoor heating are hard on nails and cuticles. Use cuticle oil daily, wear gloves outside and moisturize your hands after washing them. Our winter nail care guide has more habits that help.
